Take a direct flight to Dehradun (preferred over overnight bus). Arrive in Rishikesh by evening. Walk through Laxman Jhula bridge, enjoy riverside snacks, and gather for trek briefing. Meet your guides, review itinerary, and prepare gear.

Rishikesh → Sari Village

Ganges & Alaknanda rivers

Travel along the Ganges and Alaknanda rivers to Sari village. Twenty-minute hike to our first campsite. Learn practical trekking skills and observe the night sky far from city lights.

Trek to Deoriatal Lake

Early rise for a scenic 5km trek to Chandrashila Peak (3600m). Summit at sunrise. Witness panoramic views: Mt. Kedar, Mt. Chaukhamba, Mt. Nandadevi. Visit Tungnath Temple,the world's highest Shiva temple at 3680m. Return to Chopta for the night.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

If Plans Change, We've Got You We totally get it, life happens, and sometimes your plans have to take a rain check. That's why we've kept our cancellation policy simple, transparent, and as kind as possible.

• 45+ days before the trip: 10% cancellation charge
• 30–44 days before the trip: 25% cancellation charge
• 15–29 days before the trip: 50% cancellation charge
• Within 14 days of the trip: 100% cancellation charge

These are calculated on the total trip amount, not just the token amount.

Now, if you can find someone to take your spot, we'll happily refund your full amount. No questions asked. Because at the end of the day, we'd rather have someone travel than hold back your money.

To keep your spot confirmed, please clear the remaining balance by the due date, it helps us lock in stays, permits, and experiences for the group. If payments are delayed beyond that, we'll have to treat it as a cancellation (same policy applies).
What should I bring?

Original ID, warm layers (fleece, thermals), trek pants, sunglasses, cap, gloves, waterproof jacket & pants, small towel, personal toiletries, cutlery, water bottles, hiking poles, and a good attitude.
Can I come solo?

Absolutely! Most OJ trippers come alone. Most gel with everyone within the first day. You'll be in a 12–14 person group, so you'll never feel alone.
What is OJ like?

Small groups, authentic experiences, zero pretense. We focus on meaningful human connection, cultural respect, and genuine adventure. You'll laugh, struggle, triumph, and form friendships that last.
Is this trek beginner-friendly?

Yes! Rated easy-moderate. If you can run 30 minutes and cover 3.5–4 km, you can do this. Many solo trekkers come with zero experience and thrive. Our guides pace the group carefully.
What about altitude? (3,600m summit)
+
Chandrashila is 3600m. Most beginners adapt well. Acute mountain sickness (AMS) is rare but possible,headache, nausea, fatigue. Ascend slowly, hydrate, inform guides immediately if unwell. We have descent plans and first-aid kits.
