I'm coming solo. Is that a problem?

+
  • Most people come alone for my trips
  • About 25% of the people bring a friend or partner
  • Honestly it really doesn't matter
  • I have seen on all the batches I have led, most people really gel with everyone, even the ones who thought they wouldn't gel up, surprise themselves always with the way they got comfortable with everyone

What are trips like with OJ?

+
Usually most batch sizes are between 12–14 people aged between 18–38. Most people come alone or with a friend. The trip would feel like you are travelling more with college friends than strangers. We tend to do more outdoorsy, experiential things than regular tours. If we find a beautiful sunset or a hidden spot, we stop the vehicle right away. We usually sleep very late because people play group games and feel they'll miss precious time with the group.

Is Kashmir safe to travel?

+
Yes. Kashmir has been welcoming tourists and OJ has run multiple successful batches here. We monitor ground conditions closely and our team is experienced with travel in the region. You will be with a trained trip leader at all times.

Do we need a permit for Gurez Valley?

+
Yes. Gurez Valley is an Inner Line Permit (ILP) zone. OJ arranges all permits for the group. You do not need to do anything separately; just share your ID proof with us before the trip.

What is the road condition to Gurez and is it safe?

+
The road to Gurez via Razdan Pass is a mountain road with some narrow sections. It is operational in summer and our trips are timed for safe travel. Our team monitors road conditions, and the route is the same one locals use daily. Some light offroading feel is part of the adventure.

Is this trip suitable for first-time travellers to Kashmir?

+
Yes. This itinerary covers Srinagar, Gurez, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg - the best of Kashmir in one trip. No prior high-altitude trekking experience needed. The highest point we reach is Razdan Pass on the drive. If you can walk at a comfortable pace, you are good.
