Bhutan isn't just monasteries and mountains. Every experience below is the kind of thing you can't plan solo, we've built the access, the route, and the local crew.
7 days. 6 nights. One country that's carbon-negative, has no traffic lights in its capital, and measures success in Gross National Happiness instead of GDP.
Land at Bagdogra (IXB) by 3 PM. Meet the group in the arrivals hall, hop into the vehicle and drive 3.5 hours through Siliguri and Jaldapara's tea plantations to Phuentsholing, Bhutan's border town. The moment you cross the Bhutan Gate, two completely different worlds reveal themselves on either side. Check into the hotel, dinner at a local spot, early sleep.
Morning breakfast, then straight to the immigration office for permits and visa paperwork, OJ handles the queue and the forms, you just sign. By mid-morning we're on the road to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. Multiple scenic stops along the way, viewpoints, roadside temples, momos at a shack you'll remember forever. Arrive Thimphu by evening. Group dinner, city walk.
Visit the Golden Buddha Dordenma, a 169-foot copper statue staring out over the Thimphu valley. Lunch: Ema Datsi (chilli cheese), Kewa Datsi (potato cheese), Shamu Datsi (mushroom cheese), Bhutan's signature dishes. Hit the Thimphu Post Office to get a custom postage stamp printed with your face. Afternoon drive to Dochula Pass: 108 white chortens in tight rows, Himalayas behind them on clear days. Head to Punakha for the night.
We start with a stop at Chimi Lhakhang, the 500-year-old fertility temple blessed by Lama Drukpa Kunley ("the Divine Madman"). Afternoon option: white-water rafting on the Paro Chhu (~₹2,000/person, optional). Stop at a 100-foot hanging rope bridge draped in prayer flags over the river. Overnight in Paro. The Paro Tshechu is already under way at Rinpung Dzong by the time we roll into town.
The signature day. Start early, drive to the Tiger Nest trailhead. Hike 2.5 hours up through pine and rhododendron forest, 900 m of elevation gain to Taktsang Monastery, built on the edge of a 3,000-foot cliff in 1692. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have flown here on a tigress. Time inside with monks, rituals, the quiet. Hike back down. The festival runs at Paro Dzong all day, so if your legs have anything left after the hike, the masked dances carry on through the afternoon. Evening: archery, Bhutan's national sport, at a local ground with locals cheering both hits AND misses.
The big one. We are at Paro Dzong before sunrise for the final day of the Paro Tshechu, when the Thongdrel, a giant thangka of Guru Rinpoche several storeys tall, is unrolled at dawn and rolled away again before the sun climbs high. Then the masked cham dances, monks in silk and painted masks, locals in their finest gho and kira, the whole valley turned out. Lunch in Paro, then the long scenic drive back to Phuentsholing. Souvenir shopping at the border market, farewell group dinner.
Morning drive back to Bagdogra airport (3.5 hours). Book flights after 3 PM to be safe. Hug your new favourite humans goodbye. Go home a slightly different person. Start planning the next OJ trip on the flight home, you already know it's going to happen.
A loop out of Bagdogra, through Phuentsholing to Thimphu, over the Dochula Pass into Punakha, on to Paro for the Tiger Nest, and back.
One departure, timed to the Paro Tshechu. ₹5,000 token (+ 5% GST) blocks your slot, the rest follows a clear payment schedule.

If Plans Change, We've Got You
We totally get it, life happens, and sometimes your plans have to take a rain check. That's why we've kept our cancellation policy simple, transparent, and as kind as possible.
• 45+ days before the trip: 10% cancellation charge
• 30–44 days before the trip: 25% cancellation charge
• 15–29 days before the trip: 50% cancellation charge
• Within 14 days of the trip: 100% cancellation charge
These are calculated on the total trip amount, not just the token amount.
Now, if you can find someone to take your spot, we'll happily refund your full amount. No questions asked. Because at the end of the day, we'd rather have someone travel than hold back your money.
To keep your spot confirmed, please clear the remaining balance by the due date, it helps us lock in stays, permits, and experiences for the group. If payments are delayed beyond that, we'll have to treat it as a cancellation (same policy applies).
