ROUTE MAP

Poojan - sandakphu

Whenever i have free time naturally i start to imagine about travelling and mountains. Last year i did my first trekking trip to sandakphu with 9-10 other members with the brand ONE in the orange jacket (Vyshakh Nair the trekk leader). I would say this was a special trek for me as i enjoyed the trek since i arrived at the airport where the whole group met and i think lot of credit goes to the group leader or the brand as Vyshakh has some special skills to connect to the group members and how all members  feel comfortable and connect well.

As i said earlier i have actually enjoyed the whole trek but to be specific I'll choose first day at sandakphu when we did a small hike to see the sunset. That's really something stuck in my mind as it was first time i felt i am really close to the nature. That was an amazing experience as we were above clouds and experiencing the sunset from this beautiful place.

If i think about trekking there's only one brand which comes to my mind. Would love to do 1 trek every year.

Sandakphu -March'2023

I can't even believe it actually happened. Have been back a week now, but still acclimatising to daily life.

Stalking OJ(Orange Jacket) trips for a while on Insta, missing out one after the other, then finally the stars alligned and Sandakphu marked my first venture with OJ. This was the most spontaneous trip ever for me, from booking my slot, tickets, to scavenging the rest of the stuff within a few days, throughout which Vyshak was a constant help, answering all my important as well as silly questions.

Thanks a ton Vyshak 😊

This was a first for me in countless ways; my first trek, first solo trip, first time I played Bluff and turns out, I cant Bluff 🙄 . . and my very first snowfall😊 (which I can now cross off my list).

The Trek was . . . . challenging, as in; it challenged every part of my body and mind, which I did conquer. . . . eventually. Laxman (our dynamic trek lead) made sure of it😁.

Filled with majestic views, freezing temperatures, varried terrain, hot breakfasts, cozy dinners, sly card games and incredible people; this trek was worth all the sleepless nights n shoe bites😋.

A group of strangers, each with our own paces and energies gelled so wonderfully together, turns out I was nervous for no reason.

And our super enthusiastic trek lead Laxman, with all his fun n games n banter bound the group together and made our evenings unforgettable.

I started the trip solo but ended it with a heavy heart, saying goodbye to friends

Heres to future adventures together🤗

I AM COMING SOLO. IS THAT A PROBLEM ?

Most people come alone for my trips. About 25% of the people bring a friend or partner.Honestly It really doesn't matter. I have seen on all the batches I have lead. Most people really gel with everyone, even the ones who thought wouldn't gel up, surprise themselves always with the way they got comfortable with everyone.

YOUR ITINERARY LOOKS DIFFICULT FOR ME. CAN I DO IT ?

Each trek/ trip is rated according to the number of days we spend outdoors . If you aren't sure where to start, go with an easy trip or trek.

For trips,
I dreamed of trips where we could go out hike , get exhausted , come back to hotel and have a great evening. This is exactly why some of my trips have Day hikes in it. It is a perfect chance for people who have never hiked in their entire life. Don't worry, We are there :).

For treks,
You can start with Sandhakphu or Chandrashila . You can also benchmark yourself for the treks.
1. If you can run for 30 mins and cover around 3-3.5 km , then you can go ahead with an easy trek
2. If you can run for 30 mins and cover around 3.5-4 km , then you can go ahead with an moderate trek
3. If you can run for 30 mins and cover around 4-5 km , then you can go ahead with an difficult trek

If you have never done a high altitude trek, then start with a easy or Easy- moderate trek. That way you will understand how your body reacts to high altitude and you can check you cardio strength too.

WHAT ARE TRIPS LIKE ?

Usually, most batch sizes are between 12-20 people who are aged between 16-38. Most people come alone or with a friend. The trip would feel like you are travelling more with college friends than strangers. We tend to do more outdoorsy things than regular trips .

For example : If we find a very pretty waterfall/ a beautiful sunset / Rainbow on the way. We would stop the vehicle right away to catch the beauty of it.

We usually sleep very late on these trips as we play a lot of group games and most people feel they will miss the precious time with the group members and decides to stay awake.

I HAVEN'T HEARD ABOUT THIS COMPANY BEFORE, WHERE CAN I READ MORE ?
