SHORT ITINERARY :
DAY 01 : GETTING TO THE BASE CAMP โ JAUBHARI (6,400 ft)
Today we meet our team at airport and move towards Jaubhari by 1 pm. It is advisable to have lunch at the airport itself .
We will stop for some tea as we approach darjeeling. Once we are at Jaubhari, you will be briefed about the entire trek , the facilities available and about all Do's and Don'ts on the trail. Your Sandakphu trek starts tomorrow.

Out of the few Rhododendron treks in India, Sandakphu trek carried out in the northern part of West Bengal is a beacon of beautiful trails that are covered by rhododendrons in the spring.
DAY 02 : JAUBHARI TO SANDAKPHU( 11950 Ft )
The Drive to Tonglu starts with a steep climb up to Meghma through lush forests. About 7 km , We will reach Meghma .
Meghma is a small hamlet with few houses & an impressive Chorten (stupa). Meghma to Tumling is another 2 kms.
Tumling is at a height of 3070 mt .
DID YOU KNOW?
A bean-shaped black lake that is circumambulated by fluttering Buddhist flags is another highlight of your Sandakphu trek. It is rumored that even in really low temperatures the lake does not freeze. This lends it a strange charm, an air of mystery even.
You will be reaching your highest point of your Sandakphu trek in about 2 hours after we start

At Sandakphu, to the west lies Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Nuptse, Baruntse, Chamling, Chomolonzo, Machapuchare and other peaks of Annapurna range. To the north, Sleeping Buddha and three sister peaks. To the east, Chomolhari. What more could a trek offer!
DAY 03 : SANDAKPHU TO SABARGRAM (11,807 ft)
Today is only 12km but this is going to be your toughest day . We will be having packed lunch today.
Infact this is the only day you would get to eat your meal outside with the wide view of kanchenjunga peak in your Sandakphu trek
DAY 04 : SABARGRAM TO GORKHEY (7,546 ft) VIA PHALUT
Today is going to be your longest day in the trek : 25km , but it won't feel like that as the terrain keeps changing and it's mostly descent. Ghorkey is a small little village. If we head directly to Gorkhey , it's only 15km.

DAY 05 : GORKHEY TO SEPI (6,234 ft) VIA SAMANDEN
Today you will pass through different villages, couple of rivers and also through think jungle.
we will reach the roadhead for lunch and start our trip back to Siliguri. Your Sandakphu trek ends today and no more walking from this afternoon.

DAY 06 : DEPART FROM IXB. SANDAKPHU TREK ENDS
Today we depart to see you again in another trip/ trek.

Whenever i have free time naturally i start to imagine about travelling and mountains. Last year i did my first trekking trip to sandakphu with 9-10 other members with the brand ONE in the orange jacket (Vyshakh Nair the trekk leader). I would say this was a special trek for me as i enjoyed the trek since i arrived at the airport where the whole group met and i think lot of credit goes to the group leader or the brand as Vyshakh has some special skills to connect to the group members and how all membersย feel comfortable and connect well.
As i said earlier i have actually enjoyed the whole trek but to be specific I'll choose first day at sandakphu when we did a small hike to see the sunset. That's really something stuck in my mind as it was first time i felt i am really close to the nature. That was an amazing experience as we were above clouds and experiencing the sunset from this beautiful place.
If i think about trekking there's only one brand which comes to my mind. Would love to do 1 trek every year.

Sandakphu -March'2023
I can't even believe it actually happened. Have been back a week now, but still acclimatising to daily life.
Stalking OJ(Orange Jacket) trips for a while on Insta, missing out one after the other, then finally the stars alligned and Sandakphu marked my first venture with OJ. This was the most spontaneous trip ever for me, from booking my slot, tickets, to scavenging the rest of the stuff within a few days, throughout which Vyshak was a constant help, answering all my important as well as silly questions.

This was a first for me in countless ways; my first trek, first solo trip, first time I played Bluff and turns out, I cant Bluff ๐ . . and my very first snowfall๐ (which I can now cross off my list).
The Trek was . . . . challenging, as in; it challenged every part of my body and mind, which I did conquer. . . . eventually. Laxman (our dynamic trek lead) made sure of it๐.
Filled with majestic views, freezing temperatures, varried terrain, hot breakfasts, cozy dinners, sly card games and incredible people; this trek was worth all the sleepless nights n shoe bites๐.
A group of strangers, each with our own paces and energies gelled so wonderfully together, turns out I was nervous for no reason.
And our super enthusiastic trek lead Laxman, with all his fun n games n banter bound the group together and made our evenings unforgettable.
I started the trip solo but ended it with a heavy heart, saying goodbye to friends
