Andamans is India. No visa needed. The catch: an Inner Line Permit auto-issued at Port Blair airport.

On arrival at Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, present photo ID at the Inner Line Permit counter. ILP is issued in 5 to 10 minutes. No fee. Foreigners need a separate Restricted Area Permit (RAP) but Indians do not.
ILP is checked at every island ferry. Keep the printed slip in your wallet, not in checked luggage.
Indians do not need passport for Andamans. Bring Aadhaar or other photo ID. Foreigners need passport plus RAP, different process.

Standard processing time varies by visa type. Not required (India) typically processes faster than embassy visas. Add 7 to 10 days buffer for peak Indian travel seasons (December, May, summer holidays).
