Best Time to Visit
South Korea has two perfect seasons: spring (March to May) for cherry blossoms and post-winter energy, and autumn (September to November) for vivid red and orange foliage. Summer (July to August) is hot, humid, monsoon-prone, and worth skipping unless K-pop concerts are your specific goal. Winter (December to February) has snow but is austere outside Seoul. The OJ trip targets April for cherry blossom peak.

The OJ trip times to catch Seoul cherry blossom peak. The peak window is narrow (10 to 14 days) and varies year to year by 7 to 10 days based on weather, so book a trip with some flexibility built in.
Yes for autumn. October foliage in Seoraksan National Park rivals New England for vivid colour. May to early June is also excellent (post-blossom green, warm weather, low crowds). September has Chuseok holiday energy. The country has year-round attractions; cherry blossom is just the most marketed.
Different experiences. Tokyo has more cultural depth (temples, traditional gardens, centuries of imperial history). Seoul has more contemporary energy (K-pop, modern fashion, café culture, dynamic neighbourhoods). For first-time Asia visitors from India, Tokyo often wins for cultural breadth. Seoul wins for younger travellers focused on contemporary culture. Many Indians do both as a Japan plus South Korea combo trip.
