Itinerary · 7 days
Seven days is the smart Iceland Ring Road rhythm. The arc: 1 day Reykjavik plus Golden Circle, 2 days South Coast (Vik, Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon), 2 days East and North (Lake Myvatn, Akureyri), 2 days Snaefellsnes Peninsula plus return. Anything shorter and you cut the East Iceland drama; the full Ring Road needs 8 to 10 days to do without rushing.
Arrive Keflavik airport plus drive to Reykjavik (45 min). Light breakfast.

Mid-range solo traveller estimate. Couples sharing rooms save around 25% per person. Luxury upgrades add 50% to 100%.

Possible but you must skip the Ring Road and stick to South Coast. 4 to 5 days: Reykjavik plus Golden Circle plus South Coast to Jokulsarlon, return. 7 days is the minimum for the full Ring Road experience. Less than 4 days the flight time eats the trip.
Group tour for first-time Iceland visitors and any shoulder-season trip (September to April). Self-drive in summer is doable for experienced drivers. The Ring Road is 1330 km; navigation is straightforward but winter conditions, weather changes, and remote stretches favour a guided experience for first-timers.
The breakdown above totals around INR 4,80,000 for a solo traveller mid-range. As a couple sharing rooms, per-person cost drops to about INR 4,00,000. Luxury upgrades (premium hotels, helicopter tour) push it to INR 7,00,000 plus.
Yes for shoulder season. September Iceland Ring Road needs winter-tire vehicle, weather monitoring, and route flexibility that solo travel does not provide. The OJ trip handles all of this plus the aurora chase routing. Summer self-drive is also viable for experienced travellers.
September. The sweet spot: aurora season starts (first hint of dark nights), prices drop 30 percent from August peak, Ring Road is fully accessible. The OJ Iceland trip is INR 4.8L for 7 days including flights from Bangalore.
