Eight days is the Mount Elbrus expedition rhythm: 1 day Moscow plus internal flight, 4 days acclimatization at progressively higher altitude, 1 day summit attempt (5,642m), 1 buffer day for weather, 1 day return. Europe's highest peak is accessible to non-mountaineers via cable cars plus snowcat plus guided summit push.
Arrive Moscow plus internal flight to Mineralnye Vody (2 hours).
Drive to Terskol (3 hours, 2,200m base).
Climbing briefing plus dinner.
Hike to Cheget Peak (3,000m).
Return to Terskol.
Rest plus equipment check.
Cable car to Mir Station (3,500m) plus snowcat to Barrels Camp (3,800m).
Camp orientation.
Altitude acclimatization sleep.
Climb to Pastukhov Rocks (4,700m).
Descend back to Barrels Camp.
Pre-summit rest.
