GROUP TRIP ITINERARY
We have roamed central Asia, Himalayas, South east Asia , North africa and now after 5 years we are opening up trips to our homeland: Kerala. Welcome home 🙂
Today we land in Cochin airport & move towards Kottayam to stay in houseboat. Enroute, we pickup some nice toddy and have lunch at a local kerala style Restaurant. Try to reach before 12 in the afternoon so that we can be in our houseboat by 5pm. Our night stay is in a houseboat that floats through the serene kerala backwaters.
After a slow start to the day, we dock our houseboat & head out for some kayaking in a local village nearby. This is for everyone, you dont need to know how to kayak to do this.
Today, we are also dressing up in traditional kerala saree and Mundu. Dont worry, you would mostly just gel in with the locals. 😀
By afternoon, we will to Hill palace: Built in 1865, the palace complex consists of 49 buildings spreading across 54 acres (220,000 m2) and built in the traditional architectural style.
We will be staying in Fort Kochi for the night : Fort Kochi takes its name from the Fort Manuel of Cochin, the first European fort on Indian soil, controlled by the Portuguese East Indies. You will find pleanty of Portugese influence here.
Catch an Early morning train to Calicut and reach there for breakfast. Today is outdoors day, we head towards Wayanad and enroute we stop at various tea plantations and Head outdoors to play in a hidden waterfall. We stay in one of tree houses deep in the jungle for next 2 days.
We head out to eat some crazy malabar Biriyani for lunch. If you eat non vegetarian food, you are in heaven today.
Head outdoors to Kuruva island for a day trip. Again, you need'nt know swimming to enjoy the day at all. Today , we go deep into small villages of Kuruva islands.
The island is surrounded by streams and you can have a boat ride or rafting through this stream enjoying the enchanting beauty of the island. The rafts are made up of bamboos providing you a thrilling and exciting journey through the streams.
After breakfast proceed for an exciting sightseeing tour of Coorg. Kodagu or Coorg, known as the 'Scotland of India', is the most picturesque hill station of Karnataka.
Located on the Western Ghats at an altitude of 4000 ft, Kodagu has dense forests, coffee and tea plantations, orange orchards and lush paddy fields dotting its terrain. The majority of the population here belongs to the Kodava community; an ancient martial race with distinct culture and traditions. The people of Kodagu are considered the most beautiful of the people in India. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, Check out of the hotel. Move towards Mulki- 171 kms away from Coorg. Living among hills for two days, it's a refreshing change to be able to experience refreshing sunsets at the beach. Reach Mulki by 2. Head out to the beach for a swim and surf session. Watch the sunset as we get some really earned rest after surfing.
The next day , that is Day 7 , we head to do some standup paddling or kayaking. Choice is yours.
In the morning, head out for more surfing lessons and head to mangalore airport
After spending 6 days together in South India, fly out from Mangalore airport.

Most people come alone for my trips. About 25% of the people bring a friend or partner.Honestly It really doesn't matter. I have seen on all the batches I have lead. Most people really gel with everyone, even the ones who thought wouldn't gel up, surprise themselves always with the way they got comfortable with everyone.
Each trek/ trip is rated according to the number of days we spend outdoors . If you aren't sure where to start, go with an easy trip or trek.
For trips,
I dreamed of trips where we could go out hike , get exhausted , come back to hotel and have a great evening. This is exactly why some of my trips have Day hikes in it. It is a perfect chance for people who have never hiked in their entire life. Don't worry, We are there :).
For treks,
you can start with Sandhakphu or Chandrashila . You can also benchmark yourself for the treks.
If you have never done a high altitude trek, then start with a easy or Easy- moderate trek. That way you will understand how your body reacts to high altitude and you can check you cardio strength too.
Usually, most batch sizes are between 12-20 people who are aged between 16-38. Most people come alone or with a friend. The trip would feel like you are travelling more with college friends than strangers. We tend to do more outdoorsy things than regular trips .
For example : If we find a very pretty waterfall/ a beautiful sunset / Rainbow on the way. We would stop the vehicle right away to catch the beauty of it.
We usually sleep very late on these trips as we play a lot of group games and most people feel they will miss the precious time with the group members and decides to stay awake.
