It was our first morning in Tapovan, The land crisp and white with freshly fallen snow. The rest of the team were heading off for a day trek to the Meru base, but I chose to stay back because that had always been my goal. Vyshakh was very understanding about it - that's how he is. If safe and possible, he always lets you do your thing. Once alone, I made myself a day pack and set off on my own. I met Mouni Baba, an ascetic who lives in the mountains. He spoke very little in a voice soft from disuse and I was full of wonder at the life he was leading. He told me to go to a temple nearby, and so walked through the snow and rock for another half a kilometre.
It was nothing more than an outcropping of rock with a Shivling and a Trishul on it. Some coloured ribbons from a time long past were tied to the Trident and fluttered in the wind. Standing there looking at the majestic mount Shivling rising to the sky behind it, I had an indescribable feeling - intense and choking. I felt tears breaking fee and I just let it flow down my face. Was it a spiritual high? Or was it for the sheer magnificence of the nature laid out in front of me and my utter insignificance in the scale of it? I don't know.I sat there alone and in complete silence with my mind blank and my eyes drinking in that sight.
The shivling, those mountains and the clear blue sky.
I will always be indebted to Vyshakh for giving me the gift of that moment.
Be it road trip or trekking this guy does it perfectly. His itinerary always something new and interesting. Caving or rafting or jungle walks.
Started with trekking with him, where he had perfect combination of discipline and fun, which could help me complete my first high altitude trek to Chandrashila. He takes care of every tripper personally and encourages everyone to finish the trek. Always seen a pleasure in his eyes when everyone could complete his itinerary.
From Chandrashila to Tapovan to ABC we have come long way in trekking front, which could have been done only because of the guy in orange jacket!!
Don’t have a second thought if you planning your first trek or weather you are regular trekker, it would be your best experience.

Most people come alone for my trips. About 25% of the people bring a friend or partner.Honestly It really doesn't matter. I have seen on all the batches I have lead. Most people really gel with everyone, even the ones who thought wouldn't gel up, surprise themselves always with the way they got comfortable with everyone.
Each trek/ trip is rated according to the number of days we spend outdoors . If you aren't sure where to start, go with an easy trip or trek.
I dreamed of trips where we could go out hike , get exhausted , come back to hotel and have a great evening. This is exactly why some of my trips have Day hikes in it. It is a perfect chance for people who have never hiked in their entire life. Don't worry, We are there :).
you can start with Sandhakphu or Chandrashila . You can also benchmark yourself for the treks.
If you have never done a high altitude trek, then start with a easy or Easy- moderate trek. That way you will understand how your body reacts to high altitude and you can check you cardio strength too.
Usually, most batch sizes are between 12-20 people who are aged between 16-38. Most people come alone or with a friend. The trip would feel like you are travelling more with college friends than strangers. We tend to do more outdoorsy things than regular trips .
For example : If we find a very pretty waterfall/ a beautiful sunset / rainbow on the way, we would stop the vehicle right away to catch the beauty of it.
We usually sleep very late on these trips as we play a lot of group games and most people feel they will miss the precious time with the group members and decides to stay awake.
Gaumukh Tapovan Trek is a thrillfest with gigantic views of the cow-shaped Gaumukh Glacier which is also one of the main water sources of the holy Ganges. The trek offers breathtaking views of the Gangotri peaks - Shivling, Thalay Sagar, and Meru.
